How to convert PNG to WEBP

PNG to WEBP — what changes

This converter re-encodes your PNG as a WEBP file. For many UI graphics, screenshots, and photos exported as PNG, WEBP is smaller while still looking sharp on modern websites.

This is lossy WEBP encoding, not a lossless PNG rewrite. Keep the slider high when you need sharp type or icons. Lower it when page speed matters more than fine edges.

When to convert PNG to WEBP

  • Design exports — Figma, Sketch, and similar tools often export PNG; WEBP is usually lighter for production.

Formats, limits, and privacy
