What this converter does

PNG can keep sharp edges and transparency, but files are often larger than JPEG photos. Converting PNG to JPG usually creates a smaller file with adjustable quality — useful when a form or email prefers JPEG. JPEG is lossy, so fine detail can soften at lower quality.

Use PNG to JPG when you need a broadly compatible photo format for email, forms, or sites that prefer JPEG, and you do not need to keep transparency.

Convert PNG to JPG — what you get

Converting PNG to JPG re-encodes your image as a JPEG file. That is the format most email clients, forms, and photo-sharing tools expect. Because JPEG is lossy, you can usually shrink the file a lot compared with a PNG photo — at the cost of a little fine detail and any transparent background.

JPEG cannot store transparency. Soft edges or see-through areas in a PNG become white (opaque) in the JPG. If you need a smaller web file and want to keep transparency where supported, try PNG to WEBP instead.

When to convert PNG to JPG

• Email and messaging — a heavy PNG attachment often fails size limits; a JPEG of the same photo usually sends more easily.
• Forms and portals — many applications only accept JPG or JPEG uploads.
• Photos exported as PNG — phone or design exports saved as PNG are often much larger than they need to be for sharing.

Formats, limits, and privacy

Upload limit: 200 MB per image, up to 20 files at once. Images above about 100 megapixels may fail in the browser. Conversion re-encodes pixels and strips EXIF, GPS, XMP, ICC, and DPI metadata; orientation is applied visually first. Transparent pixels are flattened onto white.

Limitations: JPEG does not support transparency. Transparent PNG pixels are flattened onto a white background during conversion. Lower quality settings can soften fine detail.
