What this converter does

GIF uses a limited color palette. Converting JPG to GIF remaps colors into up to 256 colors — useful for simple graphics, less ideal for detailed photos. This creates a still GIF, not an animation.

How to convert JPEG to GIF

Formats, limits, and privacy

Upload limit: 200 MB per image, up to 20 files at once. Images above about 100 megapixels may fail in the browser. Conversion re-encodes pixels and strips EXIF, GPS, XMP, ICC, and DPI metadata; orientation is applied visually first. GIF output is limited to 256 colors. Transparent pixels are flattened onto white.
