How ImgTask protects your files: image tools stay on your device, PDF jobs are discarded promptly, and ads/analytics stay separate from your content.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the ImgTask website at imgtask.com and the online image and PDF tools we provide there. ImgTask is an independently operated service. If you have privacy questions, contact [email protected] or use the Contact page.
By using ImgTask, you understand that image tools run in your browser. Browser PDF converters (JPG/Word/Excel/HTML to PDF, PDF to JPG/Word/Excel, and PDF to PowerPoint) also stay in the browser. Other PDF files you choose to upload are processed on our servers only for your request. The site may also collect limited technical and usage information needed to run, secure, measure, and fund the service (including through advertising).
2. How your files are handled
Image tools are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to ImgTask's server. Files for image conversion, compression, resize, blur, favicons, app icons, and the browser PDF converters never leave your device.
Compress PDF, merge PDF, image-to-PDF, and the server PDF-to-image tool still run on the server (Ghostscript for compress and PDF-to-image, FPDI for merge, FPDF for image-to-PDF). Processing happens only for your request; files are discarded promptly after you download — we don't keep them as cloud storage. Automated cleanup removes leftover PDF uploads and outputs on a short schedule (typically within a few hours).
We do not sell your uploaded files. We do not use uploads to train AI models. Staff do not routinely review file contents. Automated systems may retain technical logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example timestamps, error codes, file sizes, or processing status), without treating your file contents as a product dataset.
Because retention is short and automated, we generally cannot recover a file after it has been deleted. Keep your own copies of important originals.
3. Personal data and accounts
ImgTask tools do not require account creation. We do not ask for your name or email to process a file.
If you contact us through the contact form or by email, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message content you choose to send so we can respond and keep a record of the inquiry. We use that information only to handle your request and related follow-up — not to create a marketing list.
Like most websites, our servers may automatically receive standard technical data when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location derived from IP, referring pages, and timestamps. This helps us keep the site secure and working.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site security (such as CSRF protection), analytics, and — when ads are shown — advertising delivery and measurement. Essential cookies are required for forms and basic session functionality to work correctly.
For a dedicated explanation of cookie categories and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break form submissions and other features.
5. Analytics and error monitoring
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage — for example which pages are visited, approximate traffic patterns, device and browser categories, and referral sources. This helps us decide what to improve and where the site is failing users.
We may also use Sentry or similar error-monitoring tools to diagnose application failures. These services can receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, and error details. Analytics and error monitoring are separate from file processing and are not used to sell your uploaded image or PDF contents.
6. Advertising (including Google AdSense)
ImgTask may display advertisements to help cover the cost of running free tools. We use Google AdSense and may work with other third-party advertising partners. These partners can use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, and — depending on your settings and region — show personalized or non-personalized ads.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to ImgTask and/or other sites on the internet. Advertising systems are separate from the processing of files you upload.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings and, for more information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can also visit www.aboutads.info for broader industry opt-out tools where available.
7. How we use information
We use the information described in this policy to:
- process the files you upload and deliver downloadable results
- operate, secure, debug, and improve the website and tools
- respond to contact messages and support requests
- understand aggregate usage through analytics
- display and measure advertisements that help keep the tools free
- comply with legal obligations and protect against abuse
8. Sharing of information
We do not sell your uploaded files. We share information only as needed to run the service, for example with hosting providers, analytics providers, error-monitoring tools, and advertising partners such as Google. Those providers process information under their own policies when they act as independent controllers or as service providers supporting ImgTask.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of ImgTask, our users, or the public.
9. Data retention
Browser-processed images never leave your device, so there is nothing for us to retain. PDF uploads and processed outputs are discarded promptly after download; any leftovers are removed by automated cleanup on a short schedule. Contact inquiries are kept as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and maintain basic operational records. Analytics and advertising partners may retain data according to their own retention schedules.
10. Children’s privacy
ImgTask is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Because tools do not require accounts, image work stays on your device and PDF file data is discarded promptly.
For privacy requests related to contact messages or other personal data we may still hold, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to locate your request. For advertising preferences, use the Google and industry links in section 6 above.
12. Your responsibilities
Only upload files you own or are authorized to process. You are responsible for the content of your uploads and for not submitting illegal material or files that violate someone else’s rights. See our Terms of Use for more detail.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site, tools, laws, or third-party services change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of ImgTask after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Contact
Privacy questions: [email protected] or the Contact page. You can also review the Cookie Policy and About page for more context about how ImgTask operates.
